Day 3: I Found Atlantis… and a few other things

Do people say third time’s the charm because there is some legitimacy to that? Does our world revolve on a pre-set of repeating sequences? The stars align in certain ways at certain “times” and we think three’s mean something.

So…(shoulder shrug)?

Three times is the amount it takes for something to cross my radar before I check it out. I’m sure there is some phenomenon some professor somewhere termed in a dissertation or a blitzed out of his mind nineteen-year-old part-time TikTok influencer mumbled that got more views than the Super Bowl.

But less to digress.

Third time is the charm for I am here. Committed to prove James Clear right.

*as I wheep proudly to myself and the big-daddy Clear with his invisible hand on my shoulder, as he guides me to put Tim Ferris’s Four Hours of (INSERT HERE) on my bedside table instead of my iphone*

My partner Amy brought up something at dinner tonight that I’m still thinking about.

Let’s back up like I’m in a 90’s crime film, I’ve gotten to the end of my cycle of being in the trench of podcast production which you can go check out on Kingdom of Pavement and anywhere you get your podcasts, EXCEPT STICHER!

They know what they did.

So, I’ve been trying to figure out what to focus on and I’m dissecting my natural want to solve problems and sail where the winds of my mind takes me, but I see that I need a more targeted focus.

What is the end-result I’m looking for?

Amy asked, “You should figure out how to make a painkiller, instead of a vitamin.”

And I asked her, “What does that mean?”

And she said, “The painkiller is the product that takes pain away, rather than a vitamin that could make your life better in some phantom/maybe-kind-of-a-way. People respond to pain-relief. So, how what do you think that is for you?”

And I’m still thinking about it. Amy always has good knowledge to make me think.

I’m sure this blog will be a document in some way and I’m hoping becomes a painkiller.

First, painkiller. If you haven’t heard of Zapier, check it out. Short of learning python it is the best way to let robots help you with your life. Cold reach-out automation. The diffusion of content to different social platforms. Even send that end of week email that your boss makes you send out from the office at 8pm on a Friday from the computer you can’t access at home because she is a cold-lifeless husk of a person that only gains delight in the extraction of yours. But you know what? Zapier could make it seem like you’re doing your job at 5pm, but what you’re actually doing is you slinked out after your boss went home after her lunch meeting and you’re enjoying the latest Disney+ Star Wars Presents: High School Musical cross-over show because it makes you think of times when things were simpler and less complicated.

Automate everything you can.

Life is short, so live it long and the way you want.

You’d be shocked how many things in your life is 2+2. Let the robot finish the rest. I mean the midjourney ai bot showed me what Atlantis looked like today and even though I don’t have any reference I think that it looks pretty close to what it’d be.

What do you think?

Okay.

Day 3 down.

Day 4 up-and-coming.

And I say adeus from the darkened day.

I’ll see you in the next one, Space Cowboy.
